Mr. Jeff Edelman is a psychiatric nurse practitioner who is double board certified as a Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a Child and Adolescent Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Both of these board certifications followed Mr. Edelman’s training at Yale School of Nursing and The Yale Child Study Center in New Haven Connecticut. Mr. Edelman has been practicing for over 15 years in the public, private, and Military settings.

Jeff received his undergraduate degree from Wesley College earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Biblical Literature as school Valedictorian. He received his graduate degree from Yale University School of Nursing, earning a Master’s of Science in Nursing with honors. He strives to provide the highest quality of care to children, adolescents, adults, military, first responders, and their families.  Jeff also enjoys having his trained therapy dog Melvin help him in treating his patients.


Meet Melvin

Melvin is Jeff’s loveable AKC registered St. Bernard, is a trained therapy dog. He has all three good citizen certifications from AKC:  Urban Canine Good Citizen Certificate, Community Canine Advanced Good Citizen Certificate, and Canine Good Citizen certificate. Melvin welcomes and loves everyone he meets.

Jeff Edelman has specialized training and experience in the following areas:

  • Mood Disorders in young children
  • Eating Disorders in Children and Adolescents.
  • Post Traumatic Stress and Psychotic Disorders in Children and Adolescents
  • Sexual And Physical Trauma in Children and Adolescents.
  • ADHD in Children and Adolescents
  • OCD in Children and Adolescents
  • Extensive Combat Environment Training and Experience , including Crisis Management and Assessment and Treatment of Post-Traumatic Disorders within a military context.
  • Extensive First Responder Training and Experience, including:  Training With Police And Fire Departments, Crisis Management, and Assessment and Treatment of Post-Traumatic Disorders within a First Responder Context.
