First Responders and Their Families
First responders and their families face unique challenges. Foundations for Change is uniquely suited to help you work through these challenges. Jeff Edelman, founder of Foundations for Change, has a special place in his heart for LEO/MIL/FR/veterans as well as a special understanding. As an Army veteran with two combat deployments and over 10 years in the military, Jeff has a special place in his heart for those who have served. Whether you or a family member are currently active-duty or have previously served in the Armed Forces in time of war or peace, he wants to help repay our country’s debt to you by providing the best-informed care possible and honoring your sacrifice with honor, dignity, and a sense of pride.
Jeff has extensive training and experience in Combat Environments, including Crisis Management, Assessment, and Treatment of Post-Traumatic Disorders within a military context. He also has a heart for military families, particularly the children in the home, who may need support due to the service commitment of their parents.
Veterans helping veterans
Your brothers and sisters have your back in the field, and that doesn’t change once you retire from service. As with the military, Jeff has a special place in his heart for those who risk their lives every day and who have signed on the line previously to assure we can exercise the freedoms and enjoy the life we have been given. He wants to help repay our country’s debt to you by providing the best-informed care possible and honoring your hard work and sacrifice with honor, dignity, and a sense of pride.
Jeff has been working with police and fire departments since he was in graduate school. He worked with the Police Department through the Yale Child Study Center, working directly with the police department at the scene, caring for children exposed to trauma during or shortly after the event.
He has provided psychiatric services to Law Enforcement men and women and their families, conducting critical event debriefings and integrating with Firefighters and Paramedics to provide support to them and their families. Jeff has extensive training and experience working with Police and Fire departments, including Crisis Management, Assessment, and Treatment of Post-Traumatic Disorders within a First Responder context.
